Darchelle Soumaya. Research Proposal. February 02nd , 2021.
A nursing research proposal is a tool used by young and old alike in the medical field to gain knowledge and information. It is a document that is to be submitted on your behalf to the sponsor, who will review it and give you feedback on it. The objective of a proposal is to collect data and then analyze that data. The information that you can expect to be included in a proposal are types of surveys, focus groups, clientele analysis, and case studies. This is not a formal research program, but rather a means of gathering data and analyzing the same.
Most funding agencies want to see hard data supporting your work to determine if the grant is credible and worthy of funding. The proposal should show the data behind the claims that you have made. For a nursing research proposal to be acceptable, the details must be laid out in a way that the sponsor will be able to read them easily and understand them. Any information that you include that is not clear to the reader will only lead to confusion. If the reader cannot understand the data that you have presented, there is a good chance that they will not choose your project as one that is worthy of funding.
The wording in the proposal also plays a big role in the approval process. You must make the point clear from the beginning of your proposal that you are interested in researching nursing matters. Including information that is misleading or too general is not recommended. For example, stating that you are interested in studying aids, diabetes and malnutrition will make it appear that you are an expert in any field that has anything to do with these diseases.
The research that you conduct as part of your proposal should be extensive enough to be able to support all of your claims. This will make it easier to obtain funds. You should take time out to gather and organize all data that you will need. You should ideally have access to data from many different sources. Using databases such as the Canadian nursing statistics data collection program and the Canadian health information database are excellent ways of obtaining this information.
When possible, you should also use as much of the information that you collect for statistical purposes as possible. This will make your study more accurate and useful to those involved in the study. By creating a literature review, you will be able to provide the reviewer with an unbiased opinion of the project's merits.
In addition to the written research paper, you should provide data sheets that contain all of the necessary information for the reviewer to examine properly. Your project summary will also need to include all of the basic project statistics. All of this information will be useful to the person reviewing your paper. It will help them determine whether or not the project is appropriate for their grant, and it will allow them to see how well you have conducted your research.
The goal behind a good research proposal is not to simply win a grant, but to influence the decision of the individual that reviews your proposal. You must present your proposal as being well-written, comprehensive, and clearly explained. Your proposal should be easy to read, as well as professional and clear. A large portion of your proposal should consist of a mission statement for why your organization would benefit from receiving funding, as well as why your proposed project is worthy of their support. Each of these reasons should be based on factual evidence about your field of nurse practitioner studies.
Nursing research proposals can be daunting if you don't seriously approach them. They can easily be overlooked by the reviewers if they aren't properly presented. Never underestimate the importance of a quality research proposal.
