Jacalyn Mina December 9, 2020 Research Paper
Writing a research paper is a daunting task for most new authors in the sciences. One of the biggest stumbling blocks to overcome for the writer is the onset of the writing procedure and creating the first draft. This article provides tips on how to begin the writing process with your research paper and each major section of the paper. Along with this information, the writer is presented with some recommendations on how to approach each of these key points. The suggested suggestions and tips are divided into three sections; organizational tips, format tips, and sample paragraphs.
Organizational tips are given to help the research paper maintain its organization within the assigned topic area. The tips are divided into two categories. The first category addresses the organization of text and references throughout the paper. The second category addresses formatting issues such as italicizing, bolding, and bullets. The third category addresses general tips for an organization such as organizing the keywords or descriptions.
Format tips provide information on how to organize and set up a research paper for easy reading and understanding. The organization is critical to presenting the results accurately and in a way that is appealing to the reader. The format tips include organizing each of the main sections with sub-sections based on the theme of the research paper. The sub-sections must be descriptive enough to allow readers to gain a complete understanding of the topic. Also, the format tips should be easily understood and employ common language so that the sections do not look confusing. The format tips also provide advice on how to introduce the main findings, what to say about them and how to conclude the discussion.
The introduction is the most important part of any research paper and is usually the most overlooked part. As a result, many students do not spend adequate time on the introduction the implications section of a research paper.
Following the introduction, the rest of the sections will be composed of tips for writing a research paper in each of these four categories. The general tips include considering other people's views, listening carefully to research material, and keeping an open mind to new ideas.
The body of research papers should contain the details about the specific topic(s) that are being studied within the research paper(s). Each paragraph should have an emphasis and a conclusion. The body paragraphs should use correct English grammar and should give an overall impression of clear and concise writing.
The results or outcome section of a scientific paper should be considered in context with the methods sections and can provide additional information to readers that would not have been provided without the specific research paper. Many results provide statistical data and a description of how the results were obtained and how they were statistically tested. The methods sections can discuss the methods and procedures that were used to collect the data and how they compare to methods that have been used in previous studies.
Finally, there is a revision of all scientific papers at the end. If the paper has been written in a formal style, every chapter must have a separate section where comments can be made regarding the organization, writing process, or message of the paper. It is important to review all changes before submitting the final version. Writing a research paper is a continuous process and should be considered in this light when completing it.
