"Lost & Found in India, by Australian author Braja Sorensen, is the least pretentious diary of life in India I have ever read. Sorensen describes her adopted India with no analytical or spiritual pretenses: the book doesn't analyse India, it suffers and enjoys it. It is breezy, light, and descriptive, with funny meditations of a voluntary citizen of India." ~ Farrukh Dhondy, Author/Playwright

GOA BEACH & COWS BUMS

Before we start, you gotta show your love and read my latest article on love. I know, I'm so mercantile.

So...I descended from the Himalayas today, I'm in Delhi, on route back to Calcutta. I feel like I've come from another planet, and will possibly spend the rest of my day figuring out how to get back there because holy mother of GOD it was sensational. I love this insane country...

This pic above is of the Ganges River at Rishikesh; spent 2 days there on the way home, and I'm in love. The water is literally melted snow from just above this point, flowing down the Himalayas and landing at this place, Goa Beach (not the Goa, which is on the west coast), and wouldn't you know it, there's a cow's bum in the photo. Now you really know I took the pic myself...

  3. I clicked on the pic to find the cow bum-- Originally I thought maybe he'd done a swam dive into
the river and I'd missed it....

Looks like a gorgeous spot, Braja.

  4. Ooooohhh, even as we speak, one of my best friends and her cousin are crusing the Ganges. It's her first time abroad, so I'm anxious to talk with her upon her return.

  7. I am sad I didn't get to see you during my visit to India....and, also, that I didn't visit the Ganges. I'm trying my best for a six month stay next visit...hopefully by July, if I can save that ghastly money for the air fare.

Just saw a very sweet, sad movie, "The Japanese Wife" - have you seen it? I love Torrent.
